KaYD seeks to facilitate social and economic empowerment of marginalized rural communities in Tanzania, particularly youth, women and children.

Kasulu Youth Development (KaYD) is a Youth led, non-governmental organization based in Kasulu District, Kigoma Region-Tanzania, registered in June 2010 under Society Act, 1954 Cap 337 and complied under terms and conditions of Non-Government Organizations (NGO) Act, 2002 in 2019 with legal mandate to operate nationally.

KaYD’s mission is to facilitate socio and economic empowerment of marginalized rural communities in Tanzania, particularly Youth, Women and Children through promotion of food and nutrition security, sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship, health (WASH/ pandemic diseases), education, peace, gender, and rights.

KaYD seeks to ensure sustainable communities and households livelihoods and social economic empowerment through vocation trainings for self-employment and provide better opportunities for the next generation, ensure access to basic social needs through mainstreaming gender equity and disability into support program initiatives to reduce vulnerability in communities and household levels,

KaYD uses Human Rights Based, Results Based Management and Community Participatory Approaches in implementing its programs, and it works with 56 Community Changing Agents/ volunteers who are locally available for provision of services in the community in all wards in Kasulu District.
