Kagera Development and Credit Revolving Fund

KADETFU works to protect human rights, conservation of the environment, facilitate promotion of human rights, social, economic, cultural development and empower the society to organize and fight for their needs by utilizing locally available resources.

Kagera Development and Credit Revolving Fund (KADETFU) is a national Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Kagera region, Tanzania. It is located in Bukoba Town, in the North Western part of Tanzania. The organization was registered on July 30th, 1993 under the Trustees Incorporation Ordinance Cap No. 375 of 1956, registration number ADG/TI/2058. To with the new NGO Act 2004, KADETFU obtained a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 1596 dated 13.3.2006.

The organization has an Executive Board with eight Board members with experience and qualification ranging from a lawyer, a Medical doctor, Health expert, Academicians, Researchers and farmers who represent the community from rural areas. KADETFU has experienced team of 34 workers in the radio station, Bembereza school for orphan and in the projects.

KADETFU has established a Community radio station known as “Kagera Community Radio” (KCR FM 93.3) that hosts educative programmes on local contents which have appeal to public lives and livelihood including human rights, gender/women rights, environment/climate change, good governance etc.
