The AJECL Organization is a local NGO (Saint Charles Lwanga Youth Association). It was created in October 2004, in the District of NYARUGENGE, Catholic Parish of Saint Charles Lwanga Nyamirambo. It obtained legal personality in 2008 by Ministerial Decree No. 58/11 of 18/04/2008 published in the Official Journal of 26/01/2009. It was registered by RGB (Rwanda Governance Board) on 06/11/2013.

AJECL is composed of 28 members whose 13 are women. It has all required constitutional organs namely Board of Directors, Audit committee and conflict resolution committee.

Its mission is to help vulnerable youth become economically self-sufficient citizens who would promote a stable civil society dedicated peace, unity, and socio-economic progress for all. This mission is achieved by organizing various training courses to teach youth business skills and peace building skills, to develop income-generating activities via agriculture, arts and crafts, and finally, to familiarize young people with micro-financing skills in order for them to develop their own businesses.

To be successful, AJECL proposed to the Rwandan society a long-term program that guides all AJECL initiatives during 21st century: GWIZAMAHORO PROGRAM 2100. This is a long-term peace education program aims at empowering young people in Rwanda to resist all forms of manipulation and exploitation, and to work with non-violent means for peace, peaceful coexistence, social cohesion, justice, and progress for all.
